RingCentral Phone Request

What is it?

The Telecommunications team provides phone services for the UTHSC campuses in Memphis and Nashville, including phone number assignment/reassignment, "hard" desk phone installation and changes, call queues, call trees, old phone removal, service consultation, and more.  This service will help you to request the following:

  • New Employees phone numbers:  Request a new phone number or reassign an existing phone number for a new employee or for a department/unit
  • Call Queues:  Create, modify or remove a Call Queue, which is also known as a departmental number, lab, or shared line
  • Call Tree:  Create, modify or remove a Call Tree, which is also known as a call menu or phone tree
  • Hard phones:  Request, change, move, or remove a hard phone.  Some departments require a "hard" phone, which is the traditional desk phone.  Hard phones are limited to the following:
    • Users with a safety-related role
    • Users who take payors’ credit card information
    • For all other needs, Business Managers must submit the request with business justification
  • Old desk phones removal:  Remove an old desk phone or conference phone
  • A consultation 
  • Response to your RingCentral questions
