What Is It?
At the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, projects begin with a formal request. This process typically involves:
- Technology Review:
- Before any hardware, software, or technical systems are purchased, the Information Technology Services (ITS) department conducts a comprehensive Technology Review. The purpose of this mandatory assessment is to ensure all new technology aligns with the cybersecurity and technical standards of both the University of Tennessee and UTHSC, as well as relevant government regulations.
- Project Request:
- Submission: Providing general information about the project request.
- Review: Allowing stakeholders to evaluate the request feasibility.
- Refinement: Adding attachments or documentation to clarify the project's technical requirements.
- Execution: Once approved, the project moves into active development or implementation status.
ITS reviews and prioritizes requests on a bi-weekly basis. If your project requires an earlier review due to mandated time sensitivity, security/safety issues, or critical to university mission, please contact Vikki Massey at vmercer@uthsc.edu or 901-448-8040.
