Turn Off “Top Results” in Outlook

Tags outlook

Outlook has recently added a new feature called “Top Results” when you search your email.

It organizes your Inbox to show what it deems the most relevant email results for your search.

This puts your emails out of order, if you were to sort by date Received.

I prefer to see my emails in the date received, so that I can respond to the most recent entry in the email stream.  If you are like me, here’s how you can disable “Top Results” in Outlook.

Go to File in the upper left-hand corner of your Outlook.

Select Options in the lower left menu.

Under Search, unclick Show most relevant search results on top.  Click OK.

Sort your emails again by Subject or Received, and Top Results will go away.

Happy organizing!
