Ability to close all open applications (e.g., Outlook) before beginning
Instructions
1. Review Password Complexity Requirements
Passwords must meet UT System standards:

Minimum of 8 characters; maximum of 40
-
Passwords with 12+ characters never expire
-
Must include at least three of the following:
-
Punctuation & symbols
-
Numbers
-
Lowercase letters
-
Uppercase letters
-
May not contain a significant portion of your username or display name
-
May not reuse the last 10 passwords

2. Access the Password Management Portal

Browse to password.uthsc.edu [Insert link to Password Management Portal]

This page allows you to:

Complete first‑time setup
-
Reset your password (personal and departmental NetIDs)

Change your password
-
Unlock your account
-
Manage security questions
-
Manage Duo two‑factor authentication
3. Reset a Forgotten or Expired Password

In the Forgotten & Expired Password section, click Reset your NetID password [Insert link to Reset Your NetID Password]

Enter your NetID and click Continue.

Enter one of the following:
-
UTHSC Student ID
-
Employee number
-
Last 4 digits of SSN
-
Enter your birthdate.

Approve the Duo push notification.
-
Review the Tips for Protecting Your UT Accounts, then click Continue.

Type and verify your new password.
-
Check the box to agree to the Acceptable Use Policy.
