Summary
These steps will outline how to navigate common Audio/Video (AV) issues when using Zoom Workplace.
Prerequisites
- Zoom Workplace installed and updated to the latest version
- A functional microphone, speaker, and camera connected to your device
Instructions
Audio
- When joining a Zoom call, you will see a preview window to test your camera and AV options before joining the meeting.
Note: If there is a slash over your microphone or camera icon, that means they are not active in Zoom.
- If you notice either in this preview, or during the meeting, that you cannot hear other people in your meeting or they cannot hear you, then you will need to check your speaker settings, shown as a microphone icon, to test your microphone and speakers.
- You can select the arrow next to the microphone, and see if the right speaker (i.e. Bluetooth speakers, built-in speakers, headsets, etc.) has been selected.
Video
- When addressing video or camera issues, choose the arrow next to the camera icon, and ensure the right camera is selected.
- Permissions: You may need to give Zoom permission to access your camera/microphone.
Windows> Settings, Privacy & Security, then Microphone under App Permissions
Mac >System Settings, Privacy & Security then check microphone/camera settings
