Creating a Content Area in a Blackboard Course

If You are Unable to Find Where to Build a Course

You must first create a place to put the course materials.

Click the + at the top of the left-hand menu and select one of the options.  Content Area, Module Page, etc.

For instance, you can choose Content Area, name it Example, and click Submit.

Once the content area is created, it will show in the menu.

Click to select it, and you will see the various Build options.

One thing to keep in mind, when you first create a content area it is hidden from the students until you make it visible.   You can tell which ones are hidden as they have a square icon with a diagonal line through it to the right of its entry.

Click the chevron to the right of the name and select Show Link.

It should then be visible to students.
