Summary

REDCap is a secure web platform used to build and manage online databases and surveys. Prerequisites

  • A UT NetID
  • UTHSC affiliation for REDCap access
  • Approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) if collecting human subjects data

Instructions

REDCap offers a streamlined process for creating and managing projects, surveys, and databases. Key features include:

  • Automated export tools for Excel, SPSS, SAS, Stata, and R
  • Project calendar and scheduling modules
  • Ad hoc reporting tools
  • Branching logic, calculated fields, and file uploads
  • Support for longitudinal and complex research designs

Troubleshooting

  • If you are collecting human subjects data, IRB review and approval are required before beginning your project.
