Summary
This article explains how visitors can connect to the UTHSC‑Guest wireless network, including how to register for a guest Wi‑Fi account and retrieve login credentials.
Prerequisites
- A device capable of connecting to Wi‑Fi
- Access to the UTHSC‑Guest SSID
- A valid email address (for new guest account registration)
Instructions
1. Connect to the Guest SSID
- Select the “UTHSC‑Guest” wireless network on your device.
- The captive portal login page should appear automatically.
- If it does not, open a browser and navigate to any webpage.
2. Sign In or Register
If you already have a guest account:
- Enter your guest username and password.
- Note: This is not your UTHSC NetID.
If you do NOT have a guest account:
- Select “Or register for guest access” on the login page.
- Complete the registration form with the required information.
Important: Use a valid email address so you can receive your login credentials.
3. Retrieve Your Guest Credentials
After submitting the form, the next page will display your guest username and system‑generated password.
Be sure to save this information.
You will also receive an email containing:
- Your username
- Your password
- A copy of the information you provided during registration
Troubleshooting
- If the login page does not appear, open a browser and try visiting any website.
- Ensure you are connecting to UTHSC‑Guest and not another SSID.
- Check your email spam/junk folder if you do not receive your credentials.
- Restart Wi‑Fi on your device if the portal does not load.
Additional Notes
- Guest accounts are intended for visitors and do not use UTHSC NetID credentials.
- Credentials are system‑generated and cannot be customized during registration.
