Teams vs. Zoom: What's the Difference?

Zoom is primarily a video conferencing tool, while Teams is an all-in-one communication platform. However, their functionality can overlap, making it confusing to choose which one to use.

Both Teams meetings and Zoom meetings can be set up in Outlook as meeting locations.

  • Available without a meeting.
  • Remain after a video conference has ended.

  • Connected to SharePoint, so files "stored" in Teams is stored in SharePoint.
 
Calendar
  • Links to your Outlook calendar
  • Links to your Outlook calendar as long as Zoom is an add-on (app) or when you schedule a Zoom meeting
