Access an Assigned ITS Project

Summary

If you have been added to a project in TechConnect, you can access it to see a variety of project information, including associated documents, other team members, plan(s), your assigned tasks, etc. You also can mark your progress on your tasks and receive project updates via email.

Body

TechConnect automatically notifies you by email when you are added to a project as a team member (aka, a “Resource”) or assigned to project tasks. Once assigned, you can access a project or your project tasks at any time in a number of ways.

NOTE: For Information Technology Services members, see the additional ways you can access your projects and project tasks.

To access your assigned projects, project tasks, and other project information:

  1. Go to the TechConnect home page and log in with your NetID and password.
  2. Select “Projects” in the green banner at the top of the page, and then select the project name.
  3. Find the following information in the links beneath the project title:
    1. Details: Displays the information submitted by the project requestor
    2. Feed: Contains all updates that have been made to the project
    3. Announcements: Contains any announcements added to the project
    4. (NOTE: You may receive notification of an announcement via email if the poster chooses that option.)
    5. Briefcase: Contains files that have been uploaded to the project (NOTE: Project managers may choose instead to place documents in a SharePoint or Teams site and link to them. See the Links section below.)
    6. Calendar: Shows all the project tasks for which an end date has been set and is filterable
    7. Contacts: Lists all project team members
    8. Issues: Contains identified issues added to the project (NOTE: Project managers may choose instead to track issues in a separate document stored in a SharePoint or Teams site and link to it. See the Links section below.)
  4. Risks: Contains identified risks added to the project (NOTE: Project managers may choose instead to track risk in a separate document stored in a SharePoint or Teams site and link to it. See the Links section below.)
  5. Links: Contains URLs to any project-related sites, such as a SharePoint or Teams document repository
  6. Plans: Lists tasks assigned to you (“My Tasks”) and full project plans (“Plans”), which contain all tasks in a project.
