At times, phones may stop receiving Duo pushes for a number of reasons, including when you upgrade your phone. Here's the process for renewing your Duo connection if you stop receiving pushes to your phone.

The steps below should be done on a computer. Do not attempt to browse these pages with your phone as you will need to scan a QR at the end of the process.

  1. Go to 2fa.utk.edu/restore (a UTK site that works for UT faculty, staff and students).
  2. On the Password Management page, enter your UTHSC NetID and password then click the Login button.
Screen to log in with NetID and password
  3. Select one identifier from the drop-down list (UTHSC Student ID, Employee #, tnUniqueID, or SSN (Last 4) and enter your date of birth. Click Continue.Enter credentials to be able to log in to the system
  4. Select one of the Duo methods to log in.
Click a method to sign in to Duo
  5. Click Device Options and then Reactivate Duo Mobile.
    Select Device Options to continue
  6. You will see some screens very similar to the initial setup for Duo. You have the option of indicating that you have Duo Mobile installed. Then, use Duo Mobile on your phone to scan the QR code the page displays (there's a + symbol in the upper right of Duo Mobile on the phone).
  7. At this point, you will be reactivated.
