How to Join an Android Device to Eduroam WiFi

Androids can join UTHSC WiFi or Eduroam, but if you choose UTHSC WiFi you end up in the Eduroam VLAN.  Instructions for joining an Android to Eduroam are located below.

Android runs on various devices and each device may vary slightly from the pictures and steps in the article below. The instructions below will guide you through connecting to the EDUROAM network at UTHSC.

  1. Navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu on your Android device.
     
  2. Click the ‘Wifi’ button towards the top of the menu.

     
  3. From the list of available networks, tap the ‘EDUROAM’ network.

     
  4. A box will appear on the screen. Scroll down inside the box to the fields marked ‘Identity’ and ‘Password.’ Identity is your username.
     
  5. Log in with your UT credentials:
    1. Username
      1. Fac/Staff: netid@uthsc.edu
      2. Students: netid@uthsc.edu
    2. Password: NetID Password
    3. EAP Method: PEAP
    4. Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
    5. Certificate: Do Not Validate
  6. Once your credentials are entered, click the ‘Connect’ button in the lower right corner of the window.

     
  7. On the wifi menu, the word ‘Connected’ should appear beneath the EDUROAM network ID once you’re are successfully connected.
